Time Plays for Keeps

Procrastination is the enemy of success. We falsely believe that we have so much time. We put things off. We push deadlines back. We con ourselves by saying, "I'll just do it tomorrow." When in reality tomorrow is never guaranteed. It all comes down to resistance. As author Steven Pressfield says in, "The War of Art" -- "We feed it [Resistance] with power by our fear of it. Master that fear and we conquer Resistance." The best time to start a new goal is now. Make a plan and execute. Never wait until you feel motivated. Motivation is full of shit. It can be there one moment and gone the next. The only way forward is discipline. Discipline means you show up whether you feel like or not. Remember mood follows action - not the other way around. If you're fearful of the outcome - take action. Move in the direction of that fear. The clock is ticking. Someone just emailed a photo of me singing with the Cro-Mags 30 years ago. It seems like it was just the other day. If I was to look forward to that same amount of time... I'D BE 90. So the question I ask myself... what am I doing today, tomorrow, next week, or next month to improve? Have I established challenging goals? Did I write them down? You know I do that every day. I write down everything I'm doing tomorrow. I'm never waking up without a plan.

Complacency is not the way. In my coaching system it's My #1 rule: Get organized. Know exactly how you will attack each day. Make your list the night before, get up early and execute. If shit goes south and there are setbacks, analyze what happened, make the necessary changes and get back after it. DO NOT WASTE TIME.

Healthy Recipe

Mosh Pit Mock-Tuna

The fishing industries are destroying our oceans.... annually millions of tons of fish are

pulled from the ocean destroying delicate eco-systems. The Great barrier reef is now

officially been declared DEAD. Not to mention fish act as a magnet for toxins - many

have high levels of mercury, etc etc and farmed fish is even worse. Fuck all that -

this is a protein packed nutritious alternative that's way better for you and the planet. It's

great as a sandwich, wrap or on top of that dope-ass green salad you're about to chow

down on. I've even used Romaine lettuce leaves.

This recipe is from my cookbook, "Hardcore Kitchen." My girlfriend Erika created it. Keep it around whenever you need a high-protein snack. Toast some thick, organic bread and layer this with avocado, tomato, lettuce, thin cucumber slices (no skin) and alfalfa sprouts.


  • 1 (16 ounce) can chickpeas, mashed (garbanzo beans)

  • 2 tablespoons vegan mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon plum vinegar

  • 2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard

  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 3 stalks of celery, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons of toasted hemp seeds

  • 2 tablespoons of toasted sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika


In a food processor pulse together 1 can of chickpeas, mayo, relish and mustard.

Chop 3 stalks of celery into small, thin pieces.

Toast the hemp and sunflower seeds.

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, add in spices and mash.

Serving suggestions

Serve on toasted bread, over salad, or as a wrap. Even use a romaine lettuce leaf to reduce

bread and calories.

Serves 3-4
