CrossFit has evolved from the days of pushing people until injured. They got a lot of bad press for that. Rightly so. I’m a personal trainer and I don’t do CrossFit because it’s not my style. But I do know that if you are a beginner you have to be careful with any new workout because it can all be dangerous until you have a good foundation built. If you really want to try CrossFit look for a club that offers a beginner/ foundations class. Most of them do now - at least the ones that care about their clients. At the end of the day it all hurts. When you are starting out new. You are in control of pushing your limits NOT the trainer. If something feels too much you have to be firm and say you need a modification now. If you don’t speak up they think everything is fine.
